After four successful years of developing Poolback in Spain under its ownership, Rotom is refining its portfolio with the sale of the business to PAKi Logistics, the open pooling specialist for Europallets and member of Faber Group. The transaction positions both companies for their next phase of growth, while Rotom sharpens its focus on its core pillars, sustainable load carriers and circular logistics services. Poolback customers will continue to benefit from strong and reliable services by PAKi Logistics.
Rotom sells Poolback as part of strategic realignment
This March, Rotom completed the transfer of its Spanish subsidiary Poolback in Spain to PAKi Logistics, concluding a four-year period during which the company built and strengthened the business into a well-positioned player in Pallet Pooling and Pallet Banking all over Europe.
The move allows both companies to grow and focus on their strengths. Reflecting on the divestiture, Paul Rombeek, CEO of Rotom Group, highlights:
“Rotom decided to divest Poolback as part of a strategic decision to simplify our business model and focus on four core pillars: (1) new and used pallet production and trade, (2) pallet recovery, (3) rental, and (4) services.”
With this transition, Rotom continues to concentrate on delivering sustainable load carriers and circular logistics services across Europe. Rotom remains committed to delivering value for its customers, employees, and stakeholders while supporting PAKi Logistics as it begins its next chapter with Poolback.
Expressing enthusiasm for the acquisition, Annegret Kramer-Münch, CEO of PAKi Logistics, commented:
“We would like to thank Rotom for the constructive cooperation throughout this process and for the trust they have shown in PAKi Logistics as the future home of Poolback. This acquisition is about responsibility and long-term impact. Iberia is a strategically important market for our customers. Together with Poolback, we want to contribute to strengthening a common open pooling standard that works seamlessly across Europe and makes life easier for pallet users.”
Acknowledging the contributions of the team behind Poolback, Paul Rombeek, wishes PAKi Logistics, Faber Group, and Poolback continued success in the future.
