With the acquisition of Poolback, Rotom is able to expand its load carrier services in Spain, France and Germany. Poolback is a privately owned company headquartered in Madrid. Poolback has an attractive service proposition which includes pallet pooling, pallet banking, rental of pallets and a variety of related services. The company has a granular depot network throughout Europe, which will have significant added value for the Rotom Group.
"We manage the entire logistics loop, from customer delivery to the collection at the place of receipt", says Javier Escudero, MD Poolback. "We rent out pallets for a limited time to cover trips in internal loops. In addition, we establish logistics routes for the collection of load carriers at the point of consumption. Furthermore, we store and inspect load carriers to be able to return only those suitable for reuse to the customer. We also offer maintenance options for many types of packaging."Poolback’s core activity is pallet pooling and pallet banking all over Europe, which fits perfectly within the sustainable mindset of Rotom. According to CEO Arjan Kuiper, "now we are able to offer our clients in Europe pooling for standard items like Epal pallets and H1 plastic pallets, where Rotom company '2Return' offers packaging recovery solutions for bespoke pallets. Both concepts are highly complementary and contribute to the circularity and reuse of load carriers like pallets, cages, etc."
Poolback will retain its own identity and brand name. Supported by the Rotom Group and its extensive product and services portfolio, the aim is to significantly increase growth beyond wood and plastic products. Current Poolback owners Javier Escudero and Maria Martin remain on board of the company to support a smooth integration with the Rotom Group and support further business development.
